Dear Visitor
First of all we would like to welcome you to LUSOWINE.COM
LUSOWINE.COM, a project under development since October
2001, was created by four young wine lovers whose professional experience in
internet development led them to the creation of an online structure which could
offer a compilation of useful, educative and professionally oriented
information about the wine world both to the wine loving public in general
as well as the professionals operating in the wine sector.
At the same time
(and this is quite innovative), the site allows a dynamic interchange between
companies and consumers, or amongst companies involved in the production,
distribution and retailing of wines and accessories, thus embracing
'business to business' ( B2B ) and 'business to consumer' ( B2C )
philosophies.
LUSOWINE.COM attempts to answer to an ever growing interest
in wine, it’s value and it’s relation with gastronomy, turism, history, art and
literature. Basically, it’s reflecting the role wine has had in our society for
as long as we care to remember.
This site is aimed towards appreciators, laymen’s,
collectors, consumers, amateurs, professionals as well as production and
distribution companies in any way related to wine. It’s a meeting point for this
community, still divided, but not for long…
With LUSOWINE.COM we firmly
believe that the importance of a better communication between economic
agents and families will become more evident, and that all the tools and
information available on the site will be put to very good
use.
Another big challenge assumed by LUSOWINE.COM, and one that
will demand continued, persistent hard work, is to allow Portuguese companies to
compete in foreign markets side by side with wines from the Old and New World,
conquering increasing notoriety and concrete results.
We believe in the
potential of the Portuguese wines: their quality, strong personality, difference
and unique personality. But believing is not enough – we must work for the
success of our products abroad and now is the best time to reinvent the
business. The internet is nowadays the most powerful mean to achieve this goal
quickly and effectively.
In this sense LUSOWINE.COM nourishes and supports the
promotion of quality wines, with a strong emphasis on marketing strategies which
are of absolute importance these days.
That’s why it’s so important to
make people aware of this project, be it in English or in Portuguese. It’s a
national site but targeting the rest of the world. Our goal is to reach an
extensive number of markets which are essential to the expansion of all
Portuguese companies.
